Situated on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, La Alpujarra which was the last Moorish refuge in Spain, is a perfect blend of architecture, landscape and a haven of peace and tranquillity. The tour begins in Lanjarón, famous for its mineral water and spa. The road continues in the direction of Orgiva with its 17th century Church and a library which houses the biggest collection of Don Quixote versions in the world. Travelling through chestnut and pine tree groves we come to Alpujarra Alta and Poqueira Ravine. A visit to Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira is strongly recommended.
